As an experienced, vibrant and warm naturopath, Johanna works extensively across the health and wellbeing industry. As well as her own thriving naturopathic clinic based within a multidisciplinary practice in Melbourne’s CBD, Johanna is a consultant for a number of Australia’s leading corporate health and well-being providers.
In addition to this Johanna lectures Food as Medicine at Endeavour College of Natural Health (formally Australian College of Natural medicine) and tutors in complementary health for Dr Craig Hassed and the Medical faculty at Monash University, Melbourne. Johanna also writes health articles and newsletters for several progressive organisations. Johanna holds a Bachelor of Health Science (Naturopathy) from the Australian College of Natural Medicine.
Johanna is passionate about motivating her patients to adopt treatment and advice that will promote their health and wellbeing and thus prevent disease. Johanna firmly believes that good health is more than just the absence of disease.
Docere, meaning ‘Doctor as teacher’, is one of the seven naturopathic principles on which Johanna bases her philosophy. Johanna is committed to ensuring that people focus on their own wellbeing and are empowered to achieve and maintain their own health goals. Whilst her belief is that we instinctively know what is beneficial for our health, many people live below their optimal level of health and are unaware of simple straightforward changes that can be made to enhance their wellbeing.
The core of Johanna’s work comes from high-quality and well-researched methods, in addition to traditional naturopathic practices. She firmly believes in the importance of utilising modern science to develop and enhance the complementary medicine industry. Johanna enhances her professional development through regular attendance at medical, nutritional and herbal seminars.
